Hi, we are thinking about TTC in dec/jan this yr, I wanted my last baby (born 12oct 2004) to be a vbac, but the doc was worried as the baby wasnt engaging at all, and last time I had that with prior birht it was as the cord was around the babies neck 3x and several knots in it too. So that was my second c-sec, apparently it ended up that the baby was stuck on scar tissue,so he couldnt decend.
So with my fifth birth, do you think there is any chance of hoping for a VBAC or do you think that would just be a "silly" thing to risk it? I also have myasthnic syndrome so I cannot be "knocked" out incase anything goes wrong. I am just terrified of the spinal/epidural, mind you I would still have this anyway, even if I had a VBAC, I dont think I could handle it without, as I cant have the gas or pethadiene either!!!
Suggestions?
Thanks

Hi Jokayne

I'm a bit confused about your request, but will try and clarify. So, you have had 2 vaginal births, followed by 2 caesareans, the last one being in Oct 2004? If that is correct you'd be wanting to have a vbac after 2 caesareans> You have already birthed vaginally on 2 separate occasions which indicates to me that a baby can fit through your pelvis! The risk of uterine rupture after 2 c/s is slighlty higher than after just one (ie 1.4% as apposed to 0.7%). The other thing to consider is the interval between births, remembering that the risk of uterine rupture appears to be greater when the interval between births is less than 18 months.

All the best
