Help, I am due in 2.5 weeks and am still having trouble deciding on which way to deliver our baby.

I have currently booked in for a CC at 39 weeks but am hoping to go natural prior to this.

We had a CC with our first child due to our beautiful boy being breech (Sep 2003).

We also miscarried in Dec 2004 which is what is making my decision so hard. I really just want this baby out safely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't bare for anything to go wrong.

All advice welcome.

Dear Mich,

I am due in 3 weeks as well. I had a cs in May 2003 due to a "large baby." I say that sarcastically b/c I am pretty sure that I would have been able to deliver my sweet boy! Anyhow, I have been researching and "training" using hypnobirthing, yoga, etc for a vbac this entire pregnancy. That said, I certainly have concerns at times and the best advice that I can give is to trust yourself and your body. Our brains can be overactive at times and overanalytical as well. Listen to your heart and body to guide you. If you listen to your body and you truly desire to try for a vbac, then go for it and enjoy the experience of labor and birth. But if your mind cannot accept this decision, I think it would be very difficult to achieve a succsesful vbac and you would be so worried about the vbac birth that you might not enjoy the real miracle of it all, the arrival of your new baby!!! So, as I've said, trust your heart and your body, only you can know the best decision. Either way, vbac or cs, you will be welcoming in a wonderful baby. I wish you best wishes with whichever you choose and congratulations on your upcoming arrival!
