Hi all well im new to this forum and would love to hear your thoughts on my situation..

With our Daughter Isabella I went into labour and everything was going fine I was dilating well and everything seemed fine.. Till they decided to break my waters and to fid them GREEN (baby was in distress) I got to 10cm only 4 hours from the start and they then decide to tell me bub has cord around her neck and cause she is in distress im going to need an emergency c-section.. I was so worried that i was all like yeah thats fine i just want her to be safe!!

She was finally born safe and healthy and a whopping 9 pound 7..
Now hubby and i are currently ttc #2 and I dont know what to do with VBAC or elective c section!! I would love to go natural but dont want the same problem to occur.. I was pretty bad after the c section so i dont really want to go there again!!

What is everyones thoughts??

Thanks
Lynsey

Hi Zee,

There is a lot of debate about the presence of meconium being a 'true' indicator of distress in babies, the amount, colour and consistency are better indicators....do some research!!! Your next birth will be unique, no two births are exactly alike, and vaginal birth is sooo much safer than c/s. Good luck!

Hi Lynsey,
As Mel has said "no two births are alike". There is nothing to suggest that your next birth will head in the same direction as your first. I know I had a little difficulty convincing the hospital of a VBAC given the size of my first (9 lb 13 oz) but in the end it was my decision and I had a no drug VBAC with a 9 lb 7 oz baby (I'm not big at all). If a natural birth is what you want then go for it!!!
Cheers
Rhona
