I just wanted to let you all know that on the 18th of January, 2006 my beautiful baby girl Kobi Jade was born by VBAC!!
I have to say thank you to all of you here for the advice and positive thoughts I have been given over the past few months.
My experience was amazing and very empowering and I had alot of support from my ob and midwives before and during the birth. My knowledge on VBAC was so helpful but in the end my gut instincts were what I ran on and they paid off. I trusted myself and my body and I did it!
After 15 hours of labour with some pain relief my 8lb1oz baby girl was born into the world.
(I had some gas, a shot of pethidene but also used the shower and essential oils)
I wish all of you here who are wanting to go for the VBAC the very best of luck and I give you all of my VBAC vibes!!!
Thanks again
Lisa

Lisa, well done! It is a wonderful thing, isn't it...I was jumping out of my skin after I had my VBAC> It would be handy for other mums in Melbourne to know where you had your baby if you are comfortable posting this. Best wishes and congratulations! Sarah

I just thought I would post again and do what Sarah suggested and post where I had my daughter. Just in case there are any Melbourne women who want to attempt VBAC and are looking at all the options.
My ob was Dr Garra and he is based in the western suburbs in Werribee. He delivers at the Werribee Mercy hospital.
I found him to be a wonderful and supportive ob but there are others out there as well. I had a few scares with him in the sense that he showed concern now and then with the risks of a VBAC but discussed things with me all the time and we always worked it out. He knew what I wanted and knew to let me make my own choices ultimately.
The midwives at the Werribee Mercy are all wonderful (all the ones I encountered)and they are very supportive of VBAC.
I had a birth plan and they followed it really well. A few things were re-arranged but they were things agreed on by all before they were done. They asked me before they did anything and made sure I was happy at all times. I cannot rave about them enough not just during labour but also afterwards in my antenatal care. The midwives that started my labour with me but finished their shifts before I had her came back the next day and the first thing they did was come and see me and make sure I got my VBAC. And they were all very happy for me that I did.
I can not recommend that hopsital enough and he whole experience was wonderful.
I hope that helps.
Best of luck to all who are still waiting to have bubs and attempting VBAC.
Sending out more vibes as we speak!!!
Lisa

Congratulations Lisa and a big welcome to your daughter, Kobi Jade. So wonderful to hear of another empowered birth and even better still that you were supported and encouraged in your birth. You have given me inspiration for my own VBAC attempt in April. Enjoy those wonderful newborn moments. Kind regards. Barbara
