I have had 3 C/S due to "CPD", but they were really due to the doctor's convenience, after much research and interviews. I am now 27 wks. pregnant and am having a homebirth. Are there any other women who have delivered VBAC after three caesereans?

Hi Rachel
Recently a strong woman we know who came to our awareness day last year, was inspired to have a vbac. She had 3 previous caesareans. I do not know all the details of it, suffice to say that she had a truly wonderful birth experience at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birth Centre in Adelaide and birth vaginally. The key to that hospital is a woman focussed mother and midwives programme, with continuity of carer. It can be done and she was diagnosed cpd with all her other births also.
Good luck and believe in yourself and find people who also will believe in you and support you. That is the key.

There are even more options now in Adelaide. This woman was supported by Northen Women's Community Midwifery Program Ph 8252 3711 and it is still going strong to women in Northern suburbs of Adelaide. If you are more central then it would be absolutely wonderful if you can access the Midwifery Group Practice at Women's and Children's Hospital speak with either Roz Donnellan Fernandez or Ann Nixon. they both provide continuity of care from a known midwife who works in a team of midwives. You are also able to still access the Mothers and Midwives programme at Queen Elizabeth Hopsital speak with Aurianne Weber. The only difference now is that no one can birth at Queen Liz anymore, but still have all antenatal and postnatal care there.
contact Carolyn at CARES SA if you want more information. carolyn@cares-sa.org.au
