I have had my last three babies by c/s and we are currently talking about having our fourth. [Eek!]

I so badly want to try for a vbac this time around, and I was hoping that someone might be able to steer me in the right direction for a pro vbac obst. in Melbourne.

Thanks so much,

Meredith

Hi Meredith [Smile]

Whereabouts are you in Melbourne?

I am not sure if it will be practical for you but my ob was pro VBAC and the hospital and midwives that I had my DD at were too. That was in the Western Suburbs. Werribee.

If you read my post just a couple under yours titled "VBAC success" you will see all the info there.

If you have any other questions please fire away.

I wish you all the best trying to find a good doc.

If the info I have doesnt suit then my suggestion is to go meet with some ob's in your area and just chat to them. See what their stance is and go from there. Remember that it's your body, your baby, your birth and you can make your own decisions. Stay strong in your desire, load yourself up with knowledge and go for it!!

Best of luck

Lisa

Hi Meredith

I had a VBAC in Melbourne 2 years ago with Ob Lionel Steinberg. I found him to be very supportive. I had a great natural birth with very little intervention. I didn't even need stitches as he was sponging water on my perineum as my daughter was crowning.

I don't know if he'd go for a VBA3C but it's worth asking. He delivers at St Vincents Private in Fitzroy and Frances Perry in Carlton.

Good luck!

Best wishes

Fleur

Hi Meredith,

I recently had my 3rd child by CS after 2 previous emergency CS, but saw Lionel Steinberg at St Vincent's Private when I was 33 weeks.

He did not have a problem with VBA2C and said he had helped 8 women try (3 had delivered vaginally).

Regards
Opal
