Five months ago I had my 3rd c-section. Recently I noticed that my stomach was quite hard on one side, and not the other. Could this be scar tissue? It is quite notice when I stand, yet disappears when I lie down. I have no pain with the mass at all. Should I go to the doctor or arrange an ultrasound? Thankyou for your response.

Hi Kathleen

It is likely that the mass is scar tissue, but please see your doctor/midwife and get him/her to physically assess the area to reassure you.

There are many creams and lotions available these days that assist in scar healing/softening and I'd suggest using one of these as well.
