Message: My first baby was born via c/s 1-27-97. I was
induced, he was posterior, I pushed for 2-1/2 hours with no
descent. He was 8lb 14oz. The reason given for the c/s was
failure to progress and CPD.
My second baby was born via home VBAC 10-1-98.
Spontaneous, natural labor, he was asynclitic, I pushed for
5 hours. He was 10lb 2oz. So much for CPD!

Message: "There is no way you can have a vaginal birth
after a cesarean!" Those words were spoken by the same
doctor who delivered my daughter in 1981. I was being preped
for a C-Section, and it became very evident that my daughter
was in too big a hurry to allow a c-section! She was
delivered quickly, easily and safely. You can read more
about it in the Web page shown above. Her sister, 3 years
younger, was born at home. No medications, no precautionary
paraphenelia, and absolutely no complications! It can be
done, if I can do it, so can others. If I could go back and
do anything over again, I would have had everyone of my
children at home.

Labour)This time 1determined to do it for myself and I did!!
A hospital VBAC, Peter Bryce was born 12.51pm 22.12.98, 8lb
2oz, 4hr labour. I'm still in shock but very pleased with my
"morning's work". Special thanks to Birthrites website, my
brother Saxon, his partner Lisa and her sister Amanda (all
in WA) for providing me with the info, birthstories and
encouragement I needed in preparation, especially the BACUP
affirmation poster, a great labour aid!!!

January 1999. .. A beautiful welcome to Tyler Rian
Belcher, congratulations to Sue Morgan and partner on the
VBAC birth of your son! Tyler was 6lb's 12oz's and 48cm long
with a 34cm head circumference. Sue had an 8 hour first
stage and 1hr 20 min's second stage &endash; the last 20
minutes were the effective pushes as Sue got a grasp on the
"where and how". Little Tyler was born still within his bag
of waters, a sure sign of a blessed life to come.
Best wishes from everyone at Birthrites'.
(Sue is the area contact person in Tom Price, Western
Australia.)
