Caesarean Birth......Making Informed Choices   booklet

The Birthrites booklet is 43 pages long, and is A5 in size (A4 folded, or approximately 6 x 8.5 inches). It is crammed full of information detailing the physical and emotional aspects of caesarean birth, and the challenges of planning future births - exploring the VBAC option in some detail, but also outlining ways to plan a positive caesarean. The booklet considers issues in a before/during/after format to enable women to make informed choices and provides relevant information in relation to caesarean section birth.

The Birthrites booklet was originally developed following extensive consultation with consumers, midwives, obstetricians and other parties. Any medical information it contains was proofread by medical practitioners, to make sure it was as accurate as possible at the time of printing, as our organization does not claim to have the qualifications to provide this.

The booklet was updated in 2009.

However, as there is a cost involved in producing the booklet, we would appreciate it if hospitals, GP surgeries and other professional care providers purchased the booklet to give to women.
