The Thought behind the design of the Poster.

The labouring mothers lean against the gracious hips of Wise Mother Tree,
who is the rich red of fertile earth. They draw on her strength and wisdom.
The blue sky in the background depicts the elements of air and water,
and the purple foreground is the colour of women.

" ...just a personal thank you to the people who designed the affirmation poster. My brother gave me the Birthrites' poster in March (I fell pregnant two weeks later!!). Although xxx is a reasonable sized city no one could give me any info on VBAC experiences, thankfully some magazines had stories. What was missing was real people for support when I started to have doubts. That's where the poster was fantastic.Taped initially to my bathroom door where I would see it every day and then, for the last three weeks, to the wall at the end of my bath. I would light my candles, sip my raspberry leaf tea and soak in a lavender bath reading the affirmations over and over. I took the poster with me to my labour, the hospital midwife was very impressed with it asking where I had got it from. I think it also helped her see where I was approaching my natural birth from and my determination to see it through. Thanks again for a very valuable and worthwhile website.   Michelle"
